The Old Masters Shoot

Ever since I saw the Old Masters backdrop, I knew it was exactly what I’d been searching for to push my work even further in the direction I’d always dreamed for it, and after a busy month coordinating various portfolio shoots, shooting with this exquisite backdrop, the time has finally come to release this as a new option for those wanting something a little different, but with a classical elegance to it still.

I’ve taken the time to photograph a selection of different horses against this backdrop, wanting to show a versatile range of horses against it, whilst also learning how I needed to adjust my shooting style to accommodate for the variation of colours.

I wanted to show people that the work I’m producing is for every horse and pony out there, no matter their breed. Although I have chosen to photograph a handful of Iberian breeds, simply because I have a deep love of the Iberian horses and wanted to shoot them against this backdrop, I’ve also included a selection of Connemara ponies (Because most of us know someone who owns a Connie!) various types of cobs, a Welsh Section C, a Warmblood, and have plans to shoot a few more breeds to add to the range of types I want to showcase.

Every horse is a work of art in their own right, a magnificent creature perfectly formed exactly how they should be. Every horse has their own story to tell, an owner who adores every inch of them, and an essence that deserves to be captured.

The old masters backdrop gives this glorious old world portrait feel to the images, it’s softer than the black background, with more depth than the white background, a perfect middle ground.
If you’ve read the natural backdrop blog, you’ll know that I’m heavily inspired by George Stubbs and Thomas Woodward, I have a deep love of art from this era, something within it resonates with me, so I truly want to reflect in the work I create.

Now for the details on this shoot package, just like the white and the black background shoots, this package comes in at £325, and gives you all digital images in a convinient, easy to share size on a USB, plus a private viewing session when your images are ready - if you’d like your images in high resolution with printing permissions, then this option is available for an additional £495.

Also, something to remember if this price feels out of your reach, shoots are secured with a £75 deposit, and I offer bespoke payment plans so everyone can afford a little luxury in their lives - if you decided on a 3 month payment plan that would be 3 payments at just £83.30 each!

If you’ve fallen in love with the old masters backdrop as much as I have, then tap here to get your horse booked in for their very own classical portrait - and this month only, I’m offering 1 additional horse on every portrait shoot absolutely FREE! If you’d like to claim that offer, just make a note of it on your booking from.
